Lucky 5 pesos & a visit to MSquare Myotherapy & Rehab Clinic

Today we had the experience and pleasure of catching all forms of Filipino public transport through Manila on our way to the MSquare Myotherapy & Rehab Clinic. It started with a bus ride from Santa Rosa, Laguna to Manila and our first experience with the Manila Light Rail Transit (LRT) system. This journey started with me finding a 5 lucky pesos in the ticket machine & a whole lot of dashing across busy Manila roads.

After a few line swaps, an extended duration on the LRT and some detective wandering we arrived at the MSquare Myotherapy & Rehab Clinic. Here we met with Mr Reynold Sta Maria.

Rey was one of the participants in Hands On Health Australia’s first STTEP in 1996. He followed that up with a Certificate in Chiropractic Assistant’s Course – Myotherapy from RMIT. Since that period, he has worked for a Chiropractor for 10 years before making the big move into his own clinic. The MSquare Myotherapy & Rehab Clinic has been in operation for the last 5 1/2 years. They currently employ 6 Myotherapists, trained by Reynold, 5 Physical Therapists (Physiotherapists) and a GP.

Rey was a pleasure to meet and he was very high in praise for the program he completed two decades ago. Without the program from HOHA, his life he says would’ve run a very different course. Rey has an inspirational story that we will share in the near future.
